Friends & Exhibitors

May 03, 2021

Dear Friends and Exhibitors:

Once again we are turning to our friends to ask you to support the Longview Charity Horse Show.  Our designated charity remains The Longview Horse Park and our mission is to continue to make improvements and support maintenance to the park.

Now more than ever, we feel very fortunate to have such a facility to show our horses and appreciate you feeling the same way.  After canceling our show last year due to Covid, we have the task of rebuilding and there will be a few changes.

We are running six (6) combined Amateur/Junior Exhibitor classes, but will tie them separately.  If entries warrant or there is a safety issue, we will split the classes and run them back to back.  Entries can now be made online through 5pm Thursday June 24th. Entries made after this date should be made in the in the show office.

We will not be collecting and handling money at the gate this year, but are committed to putting on the best show we can.

You can find our sponsorship form and details below – any and all levels of support is greatly appreciated.

A few of the highlights of the coming year’s show include the “Chief of Longview 5-gaited Jackpot” Saturday night, sponsored by Amy Hull, President of the Longview Horse Park Board of Directors.  The winner of that class will receive a special trophy, $250 prize money and the winning trainer will receive a “crisp” $100 bill.  Second-sixth place will all receive $100.00.

We are excited to have TWO “Veterans” classes for horses 11 and over: 3-Gaited Pleasure Friday night and 5-Gaited Pleasure Saturday night.

We are honored once again to be able to host the Bev Cathcard Memorial Academy Show Saturday morning.  Bev taught kids of all ages to ride and is forever in our hearts.

Thank you for taking the time to consider donating his year, but above all else, please come show your horse!

Saddle Up Supports

The Longview Horse Park

We want you to enjoy a great show and the knowledge you are supporting a wonderful cause while having a fantastic time.  All proceeds from the Longview Charity Horse Show go to help out the Longview Horse Park.

Saddle Up, Inc. a 501(c)3 organization, has long endeavored to support important charitable causes within the Kansas City community.  Our main event, the Longview Charity Horse Show, serves to benefit the very grounds it is held at: the Longview Horse Park.

The Longview Horse Park is located in Jackson County, Missouri just 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City. It sits on 500+ unspoiled acres included rolling hills and spectacular views of Longview Lake. It is one of the largest outdoor equestrian show venues in the Kansas City Metro area.

The Longview Horse Park has extensive permanent stabling on the property, with nearly 150 stalls, in addition to centralized wash racks and convenient access to fresh water hydrants in all stabling areas.

There is a large track based show arena with a center Gazebo, which we use for the Longview Charity Horse Show, two large sand show arenas and a generously sized Cross Country Course.

The picnic pavilion and concession stands on the grounds are located adjacent the horse show office. This area also houses permanent shower facilities and restrooms — making the Longview Horse Park a truly wonderful asset for the Kansas City equestrian community.

Longview Horse Park has a deep-seated history in the American Saddlebred and Hackney Pony industry.  To learn more about the history of the Longview Horse Park and the philanthropist Loula Long Combs, who had the foresight to designate her grounds as a permanent equestrian venue please be sure to click the link below.
